About Us

A partnership of leading Prep schools dedicated to excellence in education

The St Paul’s School Group unites a number of leading, not-for-profit Prep schools with a shared purpose: to deliver an outstanding education for children and to advance best practice across the sector.

In a rapidly evolving educational landscape, we are stronger together. The Group brings together schools with established traditions, forward-thinking leadership and a shared commitment to the academic and personal development of young people. Each member school retains its own distinctive identity, but all are united by a common ambition – to nurture pupils who think critically, act with integrity and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

Founding members

The founding members of the Group are Durston House and the Shrewsbury House School Trust. These schools have enjoyed long-standing relationships with St Paul’s School, built on mutual respect, shared values and a belief in the transformative power of education.

Each school benefits from excellent leadership and offers an outstanding education in its own right. Together, their combined experience and expertise form the foundation of a partnership designed to strengthen independent education for future generations.

Our shared aims

The St Paul’s School Group is driven by collaboration, innovation and a desire to share best practice. Collectively, we aim to:

  • Offer thought leadership in best practices for educating children , serving as a resource for all educators.
  • Secure a future in which parents continue to access a truly independent and highly academic education.
  • Enhance teaching and learning through shared expertise and continuous professional development.
  • Develop strategic leadership and governance across member schools.
  • Build international partnerships that expand understanding of the evolving needs of boys in education.

Independent schools, shared values

Each school within the Group continues to operate independently, with its own leadership, admissions, and ethos. The strength of the partnership lies in collaboration rather than consolidation. By sharing knowledge, experience and innovation, the Group enhances educational outcomes across all member schools while preserving their individuality.

The Prep schools within the Group prepare pupils for a wide range of senior schools, ensuring that families retain freedom of choice and access to a variety of educational pathways.

Partnership and outreach

The St Paul’s School Group also values collaboration beyond its membership. Collectively, the schools maintain partnerships with state and independent schools across London and beyond, working together to share resources, expertise and opportunities. St Paul’s special relationship with St Paul’s Girls’ school remains unchanged, continuing to offer shared academic, co-curricular and partnership opportunities

The Group champions excellence over exclusivity, and is committed to expanding bursary provision and partnership programmes so that financial means are never a barrier to entry.

Looking ahead

The St Paul’s School Group represents a new model of collaboration within independent education: one grounded in trust, shared purpose and a belief that by working together, schools can achieve more than they can alone.

Through this partnership, we are committing to a stronger, more forward-looking future for boys’ education: one defined by academic rigour, personal growth and the collective pursuit of excellence.
